Growing in Faith: By encouraging the education and spiritual growth of our children, youth and adults

Vertical EYC is the middle school and senior high youth group at Holy Cross Church.

Hi! I’m Nyal Witham, the Youth Pastor here at Holy Cross Church. We’ve heard all of the excuses for teenagers not wanting to get plugged into a youth ministry. It’s boring….I won’t know anyone….all the people who go to church are nerds. We’re ready for all of those excuses. We’ve designed a youth ministry where your child will not only have fun but will grow in character and spiritual maturity in the process.

Just give me a call or drop me an e-mail at Nyal@HolyCrossChurch.com and I will call or write your teenager and personally invite him or her to an upcoming event. Then we’ll have a student – one of your teenager’s peers – give your son or daughter a call and invite them to the event.

We’ll be right there with you throughout the whole process, sharing with you any information that might help you get your teenager connected. We’ll give you names of other students at your child’s school who come to the services on the weekend. We’ll even have other teens when your child comes in so that they have someone to sit with.

We get together on Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m. and Sundays at 10:45 a.m. at Holy Cross.

Heifer Project Carwash: Saturday March 8 2008

Heifer update from Nyal:  We have now collected over $1,160 for Heifer International!  We are purchasing a water buffalo named Anita and a heifer.  Special thanks to Barb Scheibner, Lisa Mansour, and all the youth and kids of Holy Cross who contributed to this effort.

April 4th, 2008: Heifer International Fundraiser a Big Success!

Holy Cross Episcopal Church presented to Heifer International a check for $1,160 to help families in need.  Heifer International works with families and communities in the United States and throughout the world to end hunger by providing gifts of animals.

The funds were raised by the children and youth of Holy Cross through donations of allowances, a successful carwash, and collection of coins before and after church services.  The children and youth requested that their donation be used to buy a heifer, a water buffalo and then whatever animals are most needed by families.

The children, youth and Social Outreach Ministry of Holy Cross would like to thank all those who supported this very worthwhile project!
