Thank you for your interest in Holy Cross Kids Preschool and Children’s Day Out.  Our preschool is a ministry of Holy Cross Episcopal Church and operates within the framework of the Episcopal Church and the Diocese of Texas.  We focus on developing learning skills while incorporating independence, self-confidence, and socialization with other children.

Holy Cross Preschool is in session from September through May and we follow the Fort Bend and Lamar ISD academic calendars. We meet and exceed all licensing standards of the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services.  In addition, Holy Cross Preschool operates under the guidelines of the Sugar Land Fire Department.

Mothers Day Out and Preschool

Holy Cross offers a two day Mothers Day Out program (Session 1 is offered Monday and Tuesday and Sessions 2 is offered Wednesday and Thursday) for children ages 12 months through 23 months (by September 1).

Our three day and four day (optional) program is offered for children ages 2 through 5 years.  Children enrolled in the Preschool program will attend school Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, with an optional Thursday.

Staff

Our school staff is comprised of Christian individuals who desire to enrich children.  Our staff includes vast knowledge and experience in early childhood education, elementary education and graduate studies.  Holy Cross Preschool has a well trained staff with preschool education seminars and conferences required on a yearly basis and the entire staff has First Aid/CPR training.

Parent Involvement

We believe that parents are a child's most important teacher. At Holy Cross Preschool, the parent and teacher are a team.  Our staff is here to encourage your child and to provide you valuable feedback in your efforts as a nurturing parent.

Waiting List

The Church board approved a policy that considers many different factors when determining who will move to a classroom spot. The order of children on a class waiting list does not necessarily guarantee classroom placement.  Church membership and having a sibling who is a preschooler are examples of other factors considered in prioritizing who will move to a classroom spot.  These particular considerations are not exhaustive and other factors may be considered and are left to the discretion of the Preschool School Administrative Staff.

A waiting list for a particular class will not be started until the class is full.  The waiting list is only for the current school year and does not transfer into another year.

Employment Opportunities

While prior experience with young children is desirable, it is not necessary.  The one thing we all share is a love for children and the desire to be in ministry for the sake of those children.  Fluency in English is required for these positions.  All other training will be provided.

Hours of employment are 8:30 a.m. - 2:15 p.m. and we observe the FBISD and LISD school closings calendars.  This is a great part-time opportunity for moms who want to work while their kids are in school or anyone who desires meaningful, part-time employment.
