Begin Here ... All are Welcome!

Holy Cross worship is an Episcopal, contemporary, and biblically-based experience using styles that glorify God and are relevant to the interests of the Sugar Land community. You will find our Rector, Scott Thompson, to be uplifting, dynamic, engaging, and spirit-filled with a powerful message that will make a real impact on your life.

Podcasts of past sermons from Scott are available on this website. Our music appeals to every age as our music ministry team plays today's music, drawing from all of the great praise songs and contemporary Christian artists of today. To make the worship experience easier and more enjoyable for visitors and members alike, prayers and responses as well as lyrics for the music are projected on two large screens, an experience you will come to love.

Our extensive and dynamic youth education programs range from an experienced and competent nursery at every service and Children's Ministry Sunday School for PreK-5th all the way through our Youth Group for grades 6-12. Holy Cross' staff is comprised of our Rector, Worship and Music Director, Children's Ministry Director, Invite Welcome Connect Leader, Youth Ministry Director, Holy Cross Kids Preschool Director, Communications Manager, Administration Manager, and Office Manager to ensure our worship and programs fulfill our mission and the needs of the congregation. Visit us any Sunday in Sugar Land at the entrance to Riverpark on the southbound side of Grand ParkwayAll are welcome!

Other important things to know...

Communion

All baptized Christians are welcome to receive communion in the Episcopal Church. If you have not yet been baptized but would like to receive a blessing, simply join the others at the time of communion placing your hands over your chest in the shape of an “X.”  This will indicate to the Rector that you are desiring a blessing rather than communion and he will bless you with the sign of the cross and in God’s name:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Holy Cross Loves Kids!

We have a modern playground for your kids with a special play unit for younger kids and one for the older kids. The playground meets all safety guidelines of the State of Texas and is of park-like quality and construction. Come to a worship service and then sit down with a cup of coffee or a glass of lemonade on one of our new park benches and watch your kids have a blast after church! Warning:  your children will be dragging you to church!

Newborn through Pre-School

We offer a nursery and play area where experienced and caring adults will ensure a safe and fun environment for your little ones. If you prefer to keep them with you in the service, please feel free to do so. For those times when your little ones may become fussy, the service can be easily heard out  in the Gathering Space should you need to step out of the Worship Space.

Children's Ministry (PreK-5th Grades)

We offer a very exciting multimedia kid's Christian education program for grades PreK-5 at 10:00 am each week. Children at Holy Cross love our Children's Ministry!  Children are taught a special lesson in the Education Wing in a fun, interesting, and age-appropriate manner. They are brought into the Worship Space to join their parents just prior to communion.

Youth Group Ministry (Grades 6-12)

Youth Sunday School meets on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. for conversation, fellowship, and a Bible lesson in the 100 Suite.  All Youth then join the adults in the Worship Space just prior to communion.

Refreshments

Please stay after service to enjoy some refreshments and fellowship with us, including donuts or light snacks, lemonade, and freshly brewed coffee in the Gathering Space.
