Pumpkin Patch Returns

OCTOBER 11, 2019

No Admission Fee!

The Holy Cross 13th Annual Pumpkin Patch opens on Friday, October 11, 2019 and is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through the end of October.

Pumpkin Patch History

Our Pumpkin Patch began in 2007 as a small fundraiser selling a few pumpkins to support the ministries and outreach of Holy Cross. We're kicking off our 13th year and our Patch has grown to be one of the largest pumpkin patches in Ft. Bend County. We welcome thousands of visitors to our Pumpkin Patch each year, and we believe our big, beautiful pumpkins are unmatched in quality and freshness. Unlike the grocery store pumpkins, our pumpkins are IN THE FIELD just days before they arrive in our Patch! We get them directly from northern New Mexico, where they are picked, loaded onto a truck, and driven straight to our Pumpkin Patch.

Who Benefits from our Pumpkin Patch?

Our beautiful pumpkins are grown in Northern New Mexico by the Navajo Indians on their property which is ideally suited with its fertile soil and climate for growing pumpkins. Pumpkin sale profits are a major source of annual income for the Navajos. The net proceeds of our pumpkin sales are used to support Holy Cross Church. For more information about our Pumpkin Patch Charitable Giving, please click here.

Pumpkin Patch is an "Every Member" Event!

The event begins with "Pumpkin Unloading Day" when the truck and 52' trailer arrives. Our entire church family (from the youngest to the oldest), with much help from friends and local high school volunteers, unloads each and every pumpkin by hand (see photos below). Unloading 40,000-50,000 pounds of pumpkins is quite a feat, but it is a day that is greeted with great excitement and anticipation.

How Much Does it Cost to Attend Pumpkin Patch?

There is NO ADMITTANCE FEE to our Pumpkin Patch!  Our pumpkins sell for as little as $1 for the smallest to $40 for the largest, and we have sizes for everything in between. Our activities and concessions are operated as a fundraiser to support the ministries of our Children, Youth, Women, Men and Preschool of Holy Cross.

Pets at the Patch

Some of our guests have asked to bring their fur babies to the Pumpkin Patch to take photos. While we don't prohibit your leashed pets, we do ask that they be brought only on Friday afternoons or after 4:00 pm on Sundays. We're sure pets will appreciate the smaller crowds as will our other guests. And don't forget to bring bags to clean up after your pets, if necessary.

See you in THE PATCH!
